3ds max 2012 support

Hey guys,

I need to use max 2012 for a current project. Is there a way to get this working in deadline 4.1?’

Thanks.

-Christian

soon to be released Deadline v5 adds 3dsMax2012 support to it.
However, there is an Autodesk (thank you very much) BUG which prevents that in 3dsMax submission from working. However, you could use the monitor based submission for the time being.
I’m sure Autodesk will release its first hotfix within the next 8 weeks anyway. They normally do.
HTH,
Mike

The monitor submissions doesnt have a field for adding max 2012 paths for the exe
am i missing something?

Hi,
Are you using Deadline v5.0 as support is only added in this version?
Thanks,
Mike

I was unaware deadline 5 was available for download

5.0 hasn’t been released yet, but it will be soon.

any suggestions for submitting with max 2012 for now?

Due to the 3dsmax bug that Mike referred to earlier, the options are pretty limited. You can add a 3dsmax 2012 executable entry to the 3dsCommand plugin (by editing the param and dlinit files in \your\repository\plugins\3dsCommand), and then add version 2012 to the 3dsCommand monitor submitter (by editing \your\repository\scripts\Submission\3dsCommandSubmission\3dsCommandSubmission\3dsCommandSubmission.py). Then you will be able to submit 3dsmax 2012 jobs from the Monitor.

The bug breaks our integrated submitters for both 3dsmax and 3dsCommand, and it also breaks our 3dsmax plugin, which is why the only solution is to submit to 3dsCommand from the Monitor.

Cheers,

thanks

days (probably early next week)
