3ds max 2015 ext2 Scene state, exr and deadline 7.0.3 issues

I have issue saving my scene state ouput with RE Embedded Inside an exr file on 3ds max 2015 ext2 and deadline 7.0.3.
REs passes are only Embedded Inside the first scene state submit or randomly on slave (all have exact same installation for max and plugin and updates), all the other I have only beauty, but no RE (or randomly by slave).
I have check with backburner, working fine with it.

Are you using VRay? If so, is “Restart renderer between tasks” enabled in SMTD?

Nope I render using FinalRender, but it do it also with scanline and mental Ray.

In fact or it’s only one state where all slave render passes and all other state do not render passes, or it’s some slave wich render passes and other not…on all state…this is really random submitting same scene scenes state multiple time never provide same result on render passes.

Try with 5 diffrent scene, multiple time per renderer to check but the probleme persist each time no amtter the scene, no matter the rederer, only submitting change the random pass writing.

I will try you roption to see if it’s fix or not the issue and report here the result.

Ok I have try, so It fix nothing.

FinalRender stil render randomly pass Inside the exr.
Default scanline simply never have passes Inside the exr…

Working as expected without scene State but not using it…

Hi,
I’ve been testing various setups/configurations for some time now and I’m not seeing any problem here with “Scene States” via “Batch Render”. Just checking, but did you mean: “State Sets”? Could you provide a very basic scanline renderer based demo scene file so I can confirm your setup?

Oups, yes, sorry, I mean State set…

!i send you link for the scene via mail…

Thanks for the file. So, we currently don’t have support for the new $tokens or “Render Output File Pattern” system under “State Sets” via SMTD. I need to run more tests, but this is probably causing a conflict with some of the SMTD pathing/RE options we have already. I’ll add this feature request to our list of State Set issues which we are currently looking into.

Ok so by now the “Good way” to do this, is to create path by hand for the state SET, or to use the “Add StateSET…” option on deadline, but it put everything in the same folder (happy nuke user over After Fx one  )

I Do not find how to change title of the thread to correct for other user wich have same issue…

But definitvely yes, if deadline could handle RenderOutput State SEt it could be really great.

Thx for all.

Ok, so if It could help, changing folder output for “state Set” make RE missing on the exr…
If render Inside the the default “state sets” folder, everyhting is ok…

So the good way to do it it’s to chek the 'Add State Set…" option and to not try to change folder the ouput folder for the state (I have not try to change the name only and keep it inside root via State Set,to see if it’s work or not)

This is not allowed for forum users otherwise, all kind of mischief could happen here.

Yes, as you’ve discovered, if you continue to create the paths manually and use our functions in SMTD such as: “Add State Set Name to Output Filename”, then the render output should be handled correctly. At this time, we don’t have support for the Render Output File $tokens Patterns that Max 2015 introduced nor the render output override/re-directs. To support this, I think it’s going to be a major overhaul of SMTD, which will not be a trivial task as we already have many file pathing options, which will probably break! We also need to support the new Camera Sequencer - viewport state changes as well.

Thanks again for your test file, which will help to benchmark any future support. (I’m also cross-referencing what any future version of 3dsMax might offer/change as well)
