When my nodes reboot I occasionally get a new slave instance auto-created called “~” No idea why it appears but this is the error message. I have to delete the instance manually.
It happens with or without Auto config from the Repository.

Check if you have a file called “~.ini” in your %ProgramData%\Thinkbox\Deadline7\slaves folder. If you do, delete that file and that should fix your problem. ~ is no longer an acceptable slave name as it is used by deadlinecommand to launch the default local slave.

Hi Ryan, I found one out of 40 nodes that had that ini file, however it hasn’t just been that machine affected and I delete the slave instance when it does appear, so I can’t tell you if this will fix it. I will keep checking though now I know what to keep an eye out for.
