Afterburn 4.0 doesn´t work on render farm?

Hello,

We´re working on a scene visualizing a star cluster plus gas clouds using Afterburn. When rendering a frame on a workstation, everything works. Then I send the scene to my render farm and the gas clouds disappears. To test if Afterburn works correctly, I´ve opened the scene on a render client locally and rendered some frames, everything worked! Only if I submit the scene through Deadline I don´t get a correct result.

The render clients:

XP 64bit

3ds max 2009 64bit

Afterburn 4.0

Afterburn is installed correctly. The path in plugin.ini is correct. No error message is displayed.

Any ideas?

When you are submitting the 3dsmax job, do you have the “Ignore Missing DLLs” option (under the Render tab) checked or unchecked? If it’s checked, try unchecking it and submitting the job to see if any errors are reported. I would find it odd that the gas clouds would disappear and no error would be reported.

We currently only have Afterburn 3.2. Did you ever use this version through Deadline successfully in the past?

Just found out that we have Afterburn 4 for 3dsmax 2009. Can you possibly post a simple test scene that reproduces the problem?

Hello,

I had the chance to investigate further! It doesn´t work with Backburner either! So it´s a Afterworks / Afterburn thing. I´ll contact them on this.
