Basically, I'm curious if the user HAS to be an administrator to run the deadline client. Granted, it may depend on other applications (3dsmax...), but I was wondering about Deadline itself first.
Thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh,
The user doesn’t HAVE to be an administrator to run the Deadline client. What’s really important is that the client has the necessary permissions to access the shared repository folder. The client also needs access to the registry, so that the license server can be set properly, and the Deadline Launcher can be configured to automatically run on startup.

I think the user also needs at least modify permission on the local deadline folder.
Registry permissions can be set on specific keys if you don’t want to give full permission to the whole hive.
I set up these rules via AD group policy to see overrides on registry and the deadline folder. A startup script could to the same thing.
