Hello,
I’m new to this forum and software .
I was wondering if someone can help me out with two questions:
- Is there a way to automatically do “wake on lan” and start the slave remotely on each computer in the specified group, once a job has been submitted?
- Is there a way to hide unused plugins in the “Submit” menu?
Sorry if these questions are too “newbie-style”.
Thanks in advance for any help!
E.
Hi,
Yes and yes to your questions.

You need to run Pulse and configure Power Management. If the submitted job is in a pool which a turned OFF slave resides in and all other slaves are “busy”, then it will get turned ON, by the sending of a WOL signal.
Make sure UDP port 9 is open on your LAN/firewalls. Pulse checks I think about every couple of minutes, so including the time your machines take to boot up and of course, auto-login and the slave boots up and checks in for a job/task, it may take a little while before the slaves actually pick up the job. (I find that if the job is less than 5mins per frame, its not worth turning the machines on, but of course, YMMV)

In monitor, go to “Configure Repository Options” and “Scripts Menu Setup” and then the “Submit” tab.
HTH,

Mike sir, you are too quick for me
Also you’ll need to make sure your machines are configured to wake. You can test this by turning off a slave, right clicking it’s entry in the monitor, and finding the correct menu item “Start Machine” under “remote control” when in super user mode. If it can get to a rendering state from there, follow mike’s instruction
If you need any help, we’ll be here as usual.
