Doesn’t imply spacewarps. Could be local space deformations. Bobo hinted to that when I pointed out that the PRT loader was in the geometry class. You can add modifiers like skin and xform, they just don’t work. When I made a request way back for rendering vertices as points, this is what I had in mind, just treating an array of points as vertices and sending that array to krakatoa for rasterizing.

So Bobo, tell us how close we are.

You are all close.

The teaser video demonstrates Space Warps deformations, but mainly because they are easier to implement than OSMs plus our movie production called for PathDeform support and I already hinted that this was pushed from a possible future point release into 1.0 because of our production needs…

The ultimate goal is to support all deformation modifiers including Space Warps, WSMs and OSMs.

The video scene started with a single PRT file containing 5 million particles in a box saved from PFlow.

I scaled it to make flat like a plane with some thickness, then created a Displacement Space Warp and used the logo image from the \icons folder which is only 160x120 resolution with animated strength to raise some particles above the plane.

Then I added an animated Ripple Space Warp and an animated Wave Space Warp.

Lit with a single Omni light, render time about 25 sec./frame in Max 9 64 bit.

the 1.0 of krak is going to be voodoo

the 1.0 of krak is going to be

voodoo

To be precise, the 1.0 of Krakatoa will be 1.5 of Krakatoa the way it was originally planned
