It seems that Deadline errors when attempting to render Nuke write nodes inside a group.
- Create a Read node and load in any sequence
- Create a Group node and input the Read node
- Create a Write node inside the Group node and set an image output
- Submit to Deadline
When I do the above, I get this error:
Exception during render: An error occurred in RenderTasks(): TypeError: executeMultiple() argument 2 must be FrameRanges, not tuple
at Deadline.Plugins.ScriptPlugin.RenderTasks (Int32 startFrame, Int32 endFrame, System.String& outMessage) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
Further investigation has revealed that this bug does not occur when using the -SubmitCommandLineJob option.
If you’re running Deadline 4.0, can you try rendering this same Nuke file after applying the patch found here:

Let us know if the patch helps!
All good with that patch. Thanks very much!
On an unrelated note, I wanted to check the Deadline version number I was running, so I brought up the About box. Just for fun, I read the list of names, and I saw my name (Ryan Grobins) in the Thanks section! Haha. It seems my previous testing of Deadline when I was working at Frantic about 5 years ago was worth it, hehehe.
No problem! Glad to hear the patch is working. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback for this patch, so it will definitely be rolled out with Deadline 4.1.
Wow, 5 years ago… I think I was just starting with Frantic at that time. Small world.
