We keep getting the
Failure: cannot accept a connection because Remote Administration has been disabled under the Launcher Settings in the Repository Options
error on all machines, Deadline ran perfectly with version 2 and 3, never a hitch, but now that we run deadline 4 we can’t start or stop slaves anymore via remote.

All machines are Vista x64 SP1 (with the exception of one which is XP64)
All users are either power users or have admin rights (yes, very dangerous, i know)
All Deadline clients are installed by the user account that is running and using Deadline.
The repository is running on a seperate server accessed with poweruser rights on a UNC network path ( \landlord\DeadlineRepository )

Remote administration is on, but Deadline keeps thinking it isn’t?

Anyone know what could be going on?

Double check that you’ve enabled Remote Administration under the Launcher settings (see screenshot), and not under the Remote Administrator settings (which is a remote viewer, like VNC or RDC). If there was a mix up, note that it will take the Launchers on the remove machines up to 10 minutes to recognize the change before they will start accepting remote commands.
