Is there a way for Deadline to check how many Houdini licenses are free and then limit Houdini jobs based on that?
Are you using Engine licenses to render? if you’re running all jobs through Deadline you can set a limit to how many engine licenses all jobs are using.
Reading the license server is a bit difficult as other machines can still take the licenses between jobs/tasks starting
We are not currently using engine licenses, and the problem is that a job will error out and suspend when licenses are all used be artists.
So, I was wondering whether there is a way around that problem.
either get some engine licenses, or export to your renderer’s standalone file. I would assume it’s worse to have the renderfarm locking an artists license than the other way around.
