Hi question 1 is, Where do the noob questions go?
2. I tried running deadlinelauncher -help but I guess its called something else. How can I use the -monitor and other switches with centos launcher service to check on its status?
3. I know how to check if the launcher is running:
sudo /etc/init.d/deadline10launcher status
But if it IS running and reports PID, what is my next step to troubleshooting why it isnt showing up in Deadline 10 Monitor (Windows). I know how to use the Windows Monitor haha
read the logs
/var/log/Thinkbox/
Did you set DeadlineWorker to start? you’ll need that if you want to see it in the Deadline Monitor
usually should tell you it’s not connecting or some other issue.
Which version of linux are you using?
CentOS 7 mostly, some v8.
I’m not sure how to execute it manually. I try to run it with sh and it says it Could not connect to display.
Also I found this in logs (thanks for mentioning the logs):
DataController threw a config exception bla bla
Deadline versions do not match. The repository path “(the deadline 9 path)” is configured for version 9.
Whoops!
Looks like if I fix that configuration to make it for Deadline 10. It’ll fix it.
Do you know what it means by the repository path being configured for deadline 9?
That should mean that you’re connecting a Deadline 10 client to a Deadline 9 Repository/Database.
You’ll have to upgrade your Repository to resolve that.
