Clean jobs folder after major corruption

Hello,

We are still using 2.7 and one person installed a 3.0 Deadline monitor on is station and started to play around with the queued jobs. The result is that for 2.7, those jobs that have been modified by the 3.0 software are now corrupted and they don’t show anymore in the 2.7 Deadline Monitor. We did resubmit everything (after wiping the 3.0 version from his station) and now it’s all ok. The problem is that there is about 1500 folders in the jobs directory of the repository and there’s only 260 good jobs.

What would be the best way to clean that folder from all the corrupted jobs that are still there?

Hi Vincent,

Unfortunately, there really isn’t an easy way to take care of this. Deadline 3.1 (which was released today) has some better job corruption cleanup functionality, but 2.7 really doesn’t have much to take care of this automatically.

The easiest thing to do might be to go to the repository root folder, rename the jobs folder to something like jobs_bad, then create a new jobs folder. If you can do this during a slow period, that that would reduce the number of jobs you have to resubmit. After you’ve resubmitted your jobs and everything appears to be in working order, then you can just delete the jobs_bad folder.
