Ok, I just don´t get it. How do I use Pulse?
As far as I understood the Documentation it should connect automatically to Slaves connected to the repository after a scan. But it doesn´t.
I had Pulse running on one of the nodes, but it connected only to exactly that node. Then I stopped it there and started it on the machine where the repositiory is, now no node is connected.
I can´t find anything in the documentation that helps me. I want it to run so that I can use the iPhone App, but I can´t make that one work, too.
In the global repository options (monitor - super user), you need to define which machine by DNS name or IP address that is running Pulse. Alternatively, right-click on the Pulse machine in the Pulse tab of the Deadline monitor and click on setting there to define it. To force the setting through quickly, restart your Deadline slave application on each machine. ( this can be done by the remote settings). Check out the docs on how to configure Pulse to make the mobile app works.
I´ve tried all that but without success.
As I have an important task running and rendertimes meanwhile are up to 5 hours per frame I´ll leave it as it is for the moment and continue testing when that job is finished. That will be in 3 weeks or so.
Maybe after a clean restart of all machines and applications everything will be fine. Thanks for the help.
