Hi,
After playing with the new customisable nameFormats system, we have concluded that we end up creating job names, for example: “[S]$scene[C]$camera[F]$outputfilename” which end up becoming too long and become difficult for artists to read quickly, when converted into their ‘true’ job name during submission. However we want this information embedded in our jobs for asset tracking purposes.
Therefore, could we consider adding the same functionality in the “SubmitMaxToDeadline_NameFormats.ini” but also to the “Comment” data field in the SMTD, so that studios can customise this field as well via a “SubmitMaxToDeadline_CommentFormats.ini” file. At the moment, this field just contains data such as “3ds Max 2009 Scene Submission”, which could still be the default, when further customisation isn’t required by smaller studios.
This means, studios have the best of both worlds, with fully customisable Name & Comment data fields if required.
Thanks,
Mike
Hi Mike,
We can definitely look at doing this. We won’t be able to add it to the upcoming 3.1 service pack release, but we should be able to get it into the following release.
Cheers,
