Hello to all , i would really appreciate your help with the following . I am facing an error with loading max file , all the jobs from this specific scene are being failed and t he tasks keep looping from queued - waiting to start - starting - queued. Please find some logs below :

Update on the matter above,

The local machine from which the job was submitted started rendering just fine after i launched Vray Spawner ( then i closed it and still renders fine ) .

However on all other machines i can see that 3dsmax.ini is being constantly re-written and pluginuser.settings.ini altered to a backup one…

Any idead what could be causing these problems?

All slaves run identical 2016 max version (18.8.739.0) with SP4 , they all have access to the shared drives, the scenes are cleared from missing plugins and dlls…

Would love some help with this =/

We should be writing our own temporary “ini” file for when we load Max (you’ll see it as “C:\Users\Sofi\AppData\Local\Temp\dl_108797677005.ini” in the log you sent). Considering the plugins aren’t being found it would make sense that the 3dsmax.ini file that defines where to find the things is breaking while the render starts up. Not sure about the effects of starting the Spawner on your workstation would affect things so I won’t focus on that just yet.

I’m not sure what would be resetting the plugin.ini file… Can you check to see that the paths to the plugins you need are making it into that “dl_XXXXXX.ini” file? That’s what Max is using when we load it up.

Does anyone know of any third party plugins that might be modifying the 3dsmax.ini file?

Hello eamsler, thank you for your response. We eventually bypassed the problem by enabling the ignore missing dll option in SMTD menus.

Things seem to work after that without a problem :))

As long as it’s working for you, I’m happy. It’d be good to know what’s causing the error in the first place though.
