Deadline 3.1 launcher won't stay in task bar.

I can start the monitor and slave just fine, but I would like to have the launcher in the task bar like normal. This is happening on windows xp x64.

I have set up a ton of slaves on xp x64 and haven’t had this problem until today. After the installation finishes, you can see the launcher pop up in the task bar for about half a second, then it goes away. It won’t stay there. Any ideas?

I am leaving all the launcher settings at default as shown in the attachment. The only difference is these machines are in a different office than the license server. There is a local repository there.

What do you guys think?

Found another difference. The other machines had norton ghost running on them, which seemed to prevent the launcher from launching.

Norton / Symanetec Ghost / EndPoint security has caused lots of really annoying problems for us, not just for Deadline either.
We recently moved wholesale to Sophos and life is soooo much easier now. :slight_smile:
I highly recommend off-hiring any Norton/Symantec product and using Sophos for A/V duties.
