The 3dsmax submission window shows a successful submission without any errors or warnings. Are you still getting the “Error: could not find Auxiliary submission file: (Deadline.Submission.DeadlineSubmissionException)” error from within 3dsmax?
For the realflow error, the only way I could reproduce it is if I set the Task Timeout setting in the submission window to a negative number. Having it set to 0 or higher worked fine. Is it set to something less than 0 in the submission window?
For 3dsmax, could you send us a screen shot with the Render Tab selected? Just wanted to take a look through those options.
For Realflow, that’s a strange one. Try submitting again, but when you get the error, go to your local user deadline folder, open the temp folder, and post the file called “rf_submit_info.job” here. On XP, the local user deadline temp folder would be here:
C:\Documents and Settings[USER]\Local Settings\Application Data\Prime Focus\Deadline\temp
On Vista/Win7, I believe the path can be found through C:\Users[USER].
Thanks! For 3dsmax, in the drop down that says “Copy ALL Bitmaps to Repository”, try changing it to “Do NOT copy Textures to Repository”. Of course, this requires all of your assets to be network accessible, but this is already the case with the rest of the software that Deadline supports. If that works, then there must be a but in the “Copy ALL” option.
For Realflow, it looks like the problem is that TaskTimeoutMinutes is being set to a negative number by the script, but I’ve looked through the script and I can’t figure out why that would be the case. We always default it to 0, and there is no place in the script where it is set to -1. On the off chance that you’re not using the same script I am, I’ve attached the one I’m using here. To install, first back up the SubmitRealFlowToDeadline.py file in \your\repository\submission\realflow, and then unzip the attached file to the same folder. Finally, restart Realflow on your machine and try submitting again. If that doesn’t help, there are other things we can try.
Can you press the button “Open Log In Notepad” at the bottom of the SMTD dialog and post the whole submission log from your last attempt here so we can look at the details?
Thank you.
Here’s another realflow submission script. Install it the same way as before. This is hardcoding the TaskTimeoutMinutes setting to 0 in the file. After installing it to \your\repository\submission\realflow, try submitting again, and if you get the error, go to your local user deadline folder, open the temp folder, and open the file called “rf_submit_info.job” in a text editor.
If this shows “TaskTimeoutMinutes=-60”, then something really fishy is going on. Delete this file from the temp folder, and then try submitting again. If a new “rf_submit_info.job” appears in the temp folder, and it contains “TaskTimeoutMinutes=-60”, then I’ll bang my head on my keyboard until I think of something else.
That window is showing that the job was submitted successfully. The next step is to open the Deadline Monitor and find the job in the job list and see if it is rendering or not. Here’s a brief tutorial of how to monitor your jobs: software.primefocusworld.com/sof … toring.php
