Deadline 4 error

Hi.
Struggling with an issue.
Just upgraded to Deadline 4, finally! Removed all the old repository, installed new clients on renderfarm.
So far, so good.
Now i’m getting error codes with the following on a handful of machines. Out of 17 workstation machines, around 10 exhibit this, the others are fine. All same spec, all installed the same way, or so i thought:

All the other computers and rendernodes, work perfectly. Except these ones.

Hi Tim,

A couple of things to try:

  1. Disable the “Check That 3dsmax Installation Is Valid” option in the 3dsmax plugin configuration in the Monitor:
    software.primefocusworld.com/sof … figuration

While this won’t fix the problem, it may avoid it.

  1. Check your PATH environment variable on those problematic machines. It could be that they contain a path with illegal characters in them, and that’s what is tripping up Deadline. Ideally, if this is the case, we should fix Deadline so that it doesn’t crash the render in this case.

Thats done it. Looks like option 2. was the cause.Found an errant " in the path variable. We have been batching out come stuff, and looks like it slipped though as a typo!

Great! We were able to reproduce the problem here with illegal characters in PATH as well, so we’ll fix it in 4.1 so that this doesn’t cause Deadline headaches.
