Deadline 5.2 slave, DiskCache full

Hi,

on some Win7 slaves, we had errors due to a full hard drive. I looked closer and found that the Folder

c:\Users\Machine\AppData\Local\Temp\DiskCache was full of folders with a naming structure like:

b!!project_x!sequence_y!shot_z!task_a!result, filled with tons of render result data.

Is this a Deadline-specific thing? If yes, how can I keep those folders clean automatically?

Cheers, Marcus

Hey Marcus,

This definitely isn’t Deadline. What do you typically render on these machines? I’ve seen that Maya and Nuke have “diskCache” nodes, but I have no idea if they’re related or not.

In the meantime, we found the reason. It’s the Fusion 6.2 rendernode.

By disabling local Caching there, we get rid of new Cache files.

We just had to set the Option:
“preferences” / “Globals and new comp Defaults” / “Loader” / “Disable all local caching”.

Thanks
Marcus
