When i right mouse click on the D6 launcher icon in the Windows 7 taskbar (to access the options and launcher actions), i get a 10 second delay before it popups, if i get impatient and start dicking around with the mouse it even popups as a black rmb menu (no text) and clicking that crashes the launcher completely.
Anyone know what cold cause this?

Oh man. Not sure yet.
For the crash, there might be something in the logs post-mortem that might help us. You can find the logs through the Launcher’s laggy right-click menu.
My best guess is that there is some lag between the database and the Launcher. I think we build up those submission script menus with information from the database, but Ryan or Jon would know for sure.

the problem has been resolved, the dbConnect.xml file was misconfigured, making Deadline trying to connect to the data base with user named ‘Password:’
probably a screw up on my part.

Glad to hear you resolved the issue. We’ve logged this as a bug, since an incorrect database configuration shouldn’t affect the Launcher’s performance.
