Has anyone used deadline with Houdini 9?

Does it even work??

Full fledged Houdini 9 support won’t be added until Deadline 3.0. We’re

essentially rewriting the Houdini plugin to make use of the new python

scripting capabilities of Houdini 9, thus making it easier for users to

use and for us to maintain.



We worked with one of our Houdini clients to come up with an interim

solution of using the standalone Mantra renderer. This involves

exporting your scene to IFD files and then submitting them to Deadline

via the Monitor. The Mantra plugin is part of the plugin patch for

Deadline 2.7.29178, and can be downloaded from here:

This new plugin has been working well for other Houdini users of ours.

Hopefully it can work for you too until Deadline 3.0 is available (we

hope to begin beta testing later this month).

why would you ever want to do anything other than simply submit an IFD sequence? no need for a plugin at all, no?
