Deadline and Vray Service mode

Hello,

Deadline 3.1 and Vray 1.5sp2 are installed on nodes and running in “service” mode.

when i try to schedule a job , i receive this issue from deadline:

An error occurred in StartJob(): FailOnExistingMaxProcess is enabled, and a process 3dsmax with pid 160 exists - shut down this copy of 3dsmax to enable network rendering on this machine (Deadline.Plugins.ScriptPlugin+FailRenderException)

In fact Vray in service mode start a 3dsmax instance in background, and i think deadline is not “happy” with this process.

Does any tips , except shutdown the vray service, is available from deadline ?

thanks

There’s an option in the submit dialog called Fail on Existing Process…just uncheck that. Or if you’re doing it from the command line there is a similar job option…forget what its called its in the documentation.

Hello,

Thanks for you answer , but i don’t find this option. Does it is in the deadline monitor submit panel or inside 3dsmax submit plugins ?

thanks

Sorry my bad its not in the submit…its in Tools->Configure Plugins in the monitor.

Hello,

Sorry but also in tools menu of monitor, i don’t find it … do you have any screenshot ?

thanks

Here you go, its the second checkbox down. If you’re not seeing Configure Plugins in the menu, make sure you’re in super user mode.

hello,

after update deadline to 3.1, i’m able to find this option …

Thanks
