Hmm, is it showing up at all? Can you post a screenshot of what you see in the Monitor?
If use PS on the linux machine, does it show the deadlineslave or mono process running?

Sorry rrussell, it does show up! I edited my post and I guess you didn’t catch it. But I thought I’d mention another problem I’m having. It does send the job and goes through the render process, but it won’t write the image:
0: INFO: Deadline is ignoring error: "Warning: Image file cannot be output. Please check your file permissions and ensure" because plugin setting Strict Error Checking is enabled and this error is not usually fatal.
I’m also currently testing another render manager (Smedge) and it doesn’t have any issues with file permissions. I’m testing the same projects and scene files.
i entered the command being sent for rendering in both Smedge and Deadline. I ran both and it looks like I have to do a sudo for both as well. Are there any other settings I overlooked perhaps?
I’m guessing the issue was that the user that the slave was running as prior to running it with sudo didn’t have write permissions to the output path, and then running it with sudo resolved that. Normally you shouldn’t have to run as sudo, providing that the permissions for your file server are open for writing for all users, or at the very least, the user that the slave is running as.
The file server is located on our network and I tried changing the permissions for the project folder, but I’m not allowed (and I tried, but can’t) to change permissions on the drive. Is there a way to enter the username and password somewhere on Deadline? Or a work around?
Is there a way to do a sudo instead?

Solved: sudo the deadlineslave
