I have someone who sent a job to deadline and the job was erroring for over 24 hours. Now all the machines are in an endless error loop and I can’t delete or suspend the job because deadline is telling me that the job is in use by another process. How do I get this job off of the farm? As well. whenever the job is clicked on the monitor takes about a scagillion years to refresh (I guess from all the error traffic on the farm). Any suggestions?
Would it be possible to “unplug” the repository machine from the network? This would probably free up any locks, and then you could go to the repository folder on the repository machine, open the jobs folder, and then delete the offending job. The job folders are named after their IDs, which you can see in the Job ID column in the job list in the Monitor.
Have you set up failure detection? If not, it would probably be a good idea, as this prevents jobs like this from accumulating errors indefinitely:
