Deadline macOS Installers / Binaries not Code Signed

Hey all,

I’m installing Deadline 10.3.1.3 on our render workers and clients, but noticed that the macOS entitlements that are approved through our MDM (Jamf) weren’t working anymore.

I checked all the .app containers and binary files using codesign -dr - , and none of them seem to have been code signed. This seems to be true for both 10.3.0.15 and 10.3.1.3 (although the version we used last year - 10.1.23.6 - is code signed properly).

Is there a way we could get an updated installer that has code signed versions of the Deadline apps/binaries?

For reference, here is what the code signature of DeadlineWorker10.app had been in the past:

identifier "com.thinkboxsoftware.DeadlineWorker" and anchor apple generic and certificate 1[field.1.2.840.113635.100.6.2.6] /* exists */ and certificate leaf[field.1.2.840.113635.100.6.1.13] /* exists */ and certificate leaf[subject.OU] = Y9T2DG8L8L

Thanks!

Hello @Nathan_Crow

Thanks for reaching out. I have created an internal ticket for this issue. I cannot tell the ETA on the fix though.

Great, thanks! Hopefully it will be resolved in the next update release. Fingers crossed! :slightly_smiling_face:

Actually, better news on that. We’re actively prepping a patch release and applying some fixes to internal tooling here. A few other things snuck through, but we’re prioritizing this one.

FYI, we’ve released a new set of installers. They’re branded as 10.3.1.4 but the binaries within them are unchanged and will report as 10.3.1.3.

Oh, wow! What a wonderful surprise!

Thanks so much for sending this up the chain, and letting me know of the updated release! I’ll test it out today or tomorrow, but I’m sure there will be no problems.

You’re the best!! Thanks again! :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll let the engineers know you appreciate it!
