When submitting a job from maya using deadline, we can see any progress chart/bar with percentage of single frame render? I’ve been looking for this under backburner and it seems it doesn’t exist at all… this is really weird. In 3dsmax this is pretty normal from version 1 I think!
First, you said “we can see any progress chart/bar with percentage of single frame render” did you mean to say 'We can’t"? Also, is this task level or job level? I believe we should be giving progress on the the task level, but not the job level. If what you are looking for isn’t in Backburner either, it may be that Maya doesn’t report progress. Thanks.
I was refering to job/frame level. For instance, we have to render heavy computing project with 15 hour per frame and we don’t see any progress report… this should exist in maya by default imho. I was wondering if using deadline we could have this, but it seems it’s maya problem.
Hi,
Could you provide a log report from one of these renders? Could you also confirm what renderer/versions you are using? If the renderer you are using, outputs any information via Maya as to it’s progress, we should be able to see it in the log report for the job/task and in which case, if it has anything of use, with regard displaying ‘progress’, then we should be able to hook into and pass that information onwards to Deadline.
Let us know!
Mike
We’ve made a quick test and guess what… you have progress bar working perfectly per job / frame… so, i started this thread without testing, since we were using backburner to render this high res images. We were so frustrated, waiting for 12 hours in some machines to see the final render, that i’ve opened this thread just to know if this would happen using deadline.
Sorry for that, but maybe there will be some guys frustrated with so many limitations using backburner, that this could be very helpful tip for them
