Deadline Monitor and Avast Antivirus

After installation of Deadline 6.2 on windows 7 with avast antivirus software running deadlinemonitor.exe disappeared. I had to add an exception in avast to keep the file.
Without that I was not able to start the monitor. Just in case somebody else got this problem.

Hi neogeo51,
Thanks for the note on avast a/v software. I would recommend all users consult this web-page for handy advice on common renderfarm considerations:

Hello,

Can I ask what Avast identified it as? I am very curious!

We run avast as well here at the studio and this last Tuesday (8-26-14) had a virus definition update in avast that flagged deadlinemonitor.exe as was mentioned here. Like neogeo51 said, we had to make an exception and restore the file.

Avast categorized the “threat” (deadlinemonitor.exe) as Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]

I went through their submission form saying it was safe so hopefully it adds deadline to the non-threatening list

Thanks for that info. We will try to get in touch with Avast to see what we can do.
