Deadline Monitor - Submit Quicktime job to Deadline

Deadline Version 5.2.47700
Submitting to a OSX 10.6.8 Slave

Everything seems to go pretty well right up to the point where it starts creating the movie. Tried making it save the movie locally to see if it was permissions or something, same error. Tried changing codec settings, same error. Any idea what this is?

0: STDOUT: Creating movie…
0: STDOUT: Error - An invalid track was found in the movie.
0: INFO: Process exit code: 1
0: An exception occurred: Exception during render: An error occurred in RenderTasks(): Error in CheckExitCode(): DeadlineQuicktimeGenerator returned a non-zero error code of 1
at Deadline.Plugins.ScriptPlugin.RenderTasks (System.String taskId, Int32 startFrame, Int32 endFrame, System.String& outMessage) [0x00000] in :0 (Deadline.Plugins.RenderPluginException)

Was that with our QT command line generator, or within QT Pro? If you have QT Pro, maybe try creating your movie manually through it to see if that works. It could very well be a problem with the input you’re giving QT.

Well, I opened the DPX’s up in QT and saved them out to a .MOV successfully (apparently the default QT is QTPro for OSX?). I submitted the job via the Monitor “Submit Quicktime job to Deadline,” it seems to use the command line tool:

0: INFO: Render Executable: “/Applications/Deadline/Resources/bin/deadlinequicktimegenerator”

I can make a QT from the same DPX’s saving out from QT, still get the same error from the generator though.

Hmm, weird. Is it possible to upload some example dpx files that reproduce the issue, along with the QT settings file you are submitting with the job. We can use that to try and reproduce here, and then do some digging to figure out what the problem might be.

I can give that a go, but I will need to go find some DPX’s we can upload, no idea what is safe and what isn’t so yeah I will need to figure that part out first.
