Deadline Repository on NAS

This might be a ‘hack’ be the repository seems to be just a directory in which the clients access and manage? If that’s the case is there any reason why the repository could be copied onto a NAS without an O.S so long as everyone has access to it?

Nope, that should work fine:
franticfilms.com/software/su … _on_OSX.29

(it’s a long link, I know)

Hello,

If we were to use a NAS share, exactly which directories are copied over? There is also a bin directory with all the executables.
Are these files copied over as well?

Thanks,

If you’re installing to a local drive first then copying over, you would copy everything that was installed.

Hello,

Sounds good! What about the “Repository Setup Wizzard”, is there a way to change the Repository path in the options?
Would pulse still run on that machine it was copied from?

Thanks,

Everything in the Repository Setup Wizard is also available from the Monitor while in super user mode by selecting Tools -> Configure Repository Options. Since the NAS share already exists, you don’t have to worry about having the RSW create it for you.

Pulse is part of the client install, so that would be part of a separate installation.
