Deadline slave and CUDA? (Maya Vray)

Hello total newbie here. I’m trying to get a slave to render in hybrid mode (CUDA and CPU), Maya and Vray.

I can see in task manager on the slave that the GPU is not rendering. Does deadline get the render settings from Maya/Vray or do I can I specify what type of rendering to use in the submitter?

Thanks

It should take the settings from Maya, do you have it set up in V-Ray? If you render locally does it use both GPU and CPU?

Yes locally it renders with both as it should. But not when using a slave. I can’t see any significant GPU usage in windows at least which I can with CPU.

Do you have the GPU affinity set on the slave or is it as standard?

GPU affinity is not overridden for the slave

I dont see this option in the deadline submitter btw. Why is that?

https://docs.thinkboxsoftware.com/products/deadline/10.0/1_User%20Manual/manual/app-maya.html#gpu-affinity

I’ll have a look if I get a chance.

Are you running the slave/worker as a service? or running a RDP session which disconnects the GPU?

Neither. We are testing on one of our client machines. The slave is launched through the deadline launcher. Not as a slave and we’re not remoting.

Any suggestions that I can try?
