Hi,
With Deadline client x64 installed onto a Windows 7 x64 OS machine, the Deadline slave reports in its “Slave Specifications” window, in the “Operating System” data field = “Win32NT” which I believe to be incorrect in this instance? “CPU Architecture” states “x64” on this system. Also the “IP Address” is incorrect and seems to be displaying the MAC address of all available MAC addresses on my system! The MAC address data field is however, correct.
Thanks,
Mike
Hey Mike,
Thanks for reporting this. We’re in Las Vegas for NAB this week, so unfortunately we won’t be able to look into this until next week. Seems like a simple enough problem to reproduce, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we have more information.
Cheers,
- Ryan
Cool. Thanks.
Might be worth checking any part of deadline to ensure its reporting back the correct info under Windows 7 OS as I’m noticing quite a few little changes across different programs that I use
Mike
Hey Mike,
We’ve confirmed that the OS is listed incorrectly, but our IP address is showing up correctly.
Is it possible to send us a screen shot of this? If the screen shot contains sensitive data, feel free to email the support mailing list.
Thanks!
- Ryan
FYI.
Private support ticket has been submitted.
Mike
I’ve just updated a bunch of our slaves to Windows 7 and deadline displays the IPv6 address in the slave details.
It looks a bit like a mac address and I’m wondering if this is what you’re seeing? I thought the same thing until I realised that Windows 7 enables ipv6 by default.
indeed Rob, you are correct.
I have suggested to Ryan that the display of the actual IP address is more user friendly than the IPv6 address in the slave field, even if the address is correct
Hi guys,
If you don’t want Deadline to display the IPv6 address, you’ll need to disable IPv6 on the client machines. The process for disabling IPv6 can be found here:
support.microsoft.com/kb/929852
In my tests, I used 0xffffffff as the value for DisabledComponents.
Cheers,
- Ryan
