Draft Warning: iContinualSkipFrames is large

Apologies for the cross-post in Deadline, but I don’t think this Draft forum is active…

Hi.

After upgrading deadline to 10.1.23.6 we sometimes see an error:
STDOUT: [libopenh264 @ 0xcd740c0] [OpenH264] this = 0x0xd1b9c0, Warning:[Rc] iDid = 0,iContinualSkipFrames(3) is large
when the movie file is being created which results in a movie file with only a few frames (e.g. a 2-frame movie when the seq. should be 15 frames). It was working just fine in DL 10.1.19.4.

render log snippet:

2022-09-22 18:52:08: 0: INFO: Draft job complete!

A few things:

  • We have an event plugin (OnJobSubmitted) that writes/sets the ExtraInfoKeyValue fields for the job so that the DraftEvent plugin/simple movie will be run after the render.
  • If we use the same renderjob and submit same parameters via scripts → processing → Draft and use the same parameters, it works as expected.

Any thoughts / things to check?
Should I post in Deadline (instead of Draft)?

thanks!

I had cross-posted in Deadline forums, but here is the link. It has been resolved with the latest draft 1.8.0 download.

Even with the latest Draft version, we are still catching these errors. Yesterday we had license errors, and we updated to the new Draft 1.8.0 (downloaded from the link above). Maybe we need to clean the worker folders.

Update: we changed kbitrate argument from int((q / 100) * 25000) to int((q / 100.0) * 25000) and the problem was solved

Today we caught the same error, but with the *.dpx sequence. And what was strange. When I increased kbitrate value - the amount of missed frames decreases, and after 56000 - the movie was encoded successfully. One frame size was 22 MB. The strange fact is that it happened only with one shot. We have a couple of the other .dpx shots - they encoded without any problems. Maybe we still have some problems with Py2 and Py3, cause our previous fix was related to py2 delimiter behavior.
