PS Submiting from SMTD plugin in 3DSmax 2014 to Deadline 6.1
Hello Fabrice,
From looking over history of that error, it looks like it’s connected to using different languages of Max for submission and render. Can you verify this is not the case?
Yes Max seems to be Korean on some renderslaves…I don’t know why !?
Do you know the way to correct it ?
…
I know I can localy launch Max in english using
“3dsmax.exe /Language=ENU”
but the DL’s 3DSMax “configure plugin” doesn’t allow command line option launching tha 3dsmax.exe
Well, I found a solution :
I launched once each 3DSMax (English) localy on each server and quit it
launched DL slave
and the DL error message has disappeared…strange…
The language can be overridden at submission time either in monitor or SMTD. Here is a screen-shot of the override DDL in Monitor. At a guess, I would say that as “Korean” is the last option in the DDL, that a user has accidentally scrolled-down this DDL using their middle mouse button…I would check your settings in both monitor submitter or SMTD depending on how you submit jobs to Deadline. I will add an entry into our 3dsmax FAQ for future users who encounter this error.
Thanks for the tip…next time I’ll use this option.
Gosh ! All the server are down once more !!!
Can you please tell me where I can find this “monitor submitter” (your screen capture) option ?
I really can’t find it in Deadline monitor.
Submit Menu -> 3dsmaxSubmission
Thanks but when I select the “ENU” option and press “submit” a “No 3DSMax file specified” error appears…is it normal ?
(Anyway the ENU choice seems to be memorized)
In the monitor submitter, you need to provide the path to a *.max scene file so that the job can be submitted knowing what needs to be rendered.
On the first tab, you need to browse to a Max scene file.
Hello Fabrice,
I wanted to check if there is a file pointed to on the 3ds max line in general tab of the submitter when you submit. That’s the only way I could get that error. Thanks.
Cheers
