hi there…
i am experiencing some error using maya 2008 and deadline.
the error are that i render with renderlayer and i submit using the option render each layer separately and i do not submit the scene option .
well…
maya render some of the layer in the image folder and not inside the render layer and other rlayer in the right layer…
this time i have only 2 layer…
i use as name for the rendered file %l%l that is a shortcut that let give the name to the rendered file equal to the renderlayer they should be…
another problem i need is that render.exe is not found in the path where all the possible are set…and the path is there…under my eyes…
thanks
mat
sorry…i am tired…not another problem i need…hehehe…:another problem i have!
Hey Mat,
The problem with the render layers not being saved to the correct
location might have to do with the shortcuts you’re using for the
rendered image filename (%l%l). Can you try using normal filenames to
see if that makes a difference? Either way, we need to improve how
Deadline handles these filename shortcuts (we’ll try to do this for
Deadline 3.0), but I just to confirm if that is actually the problem in
this case.
With regards to Deadline not finding render.exe, I guess a couple of
things to check are:
- There are no typos in the semicolon separated list of paths you have
in your Maya plugin configuration
- There are no permission issues with accessing the Maya bin folder
If these aren’t the problem, I can’t imagine why Deadline wouldn’t be
able to find the file if it indeed exists.
Cheers,
- Ryan

v8.5 lets you use human-readable variables, so you could use
[Layer]/[Layer]
instead. (replace those square brackets with angle brackets, this webboard doesn’t like 'em). that might get around your problem…
thanks, i’ll give a look…
i think that %l/%l is doing wrong…you are right…i’ll test more as soon as i can!
