feature request: slave as service - seeing render status

Hi Thinkboxers,

i was thinking if you could maybe sth. similar to the slave launcher which sits in the taskbar EVEN when the slave is running as a service.
This way the artists can immediately see that their machine is rendering and not just through the monitor or because their machine is suddenly very slow…?

Maybe this reduced version of the launcher (“slave service launcher”?) could have a pulsing icon when is rendering and also give the option to stop the service?

Right now we have two shortcuts on the desktop of the artists “start slave” and “stop slave”.

I had a similar request for the pulsing icon a while ago but not with the slave as a service.

So the monitor is the currently functioning method to do this, but we can pass along this request for another option like you describe.

I think this is a really nice idea. We’ve tried to use scheduling in our studio but the hours are never regular enough to make it work :slight_smile:
