Free Disk Space - Slaves tab

Hi,

We are using Deadline 5.1 and our machines/blades have a 3-disk configuration (i.e. C:, D: and E:)

Is there an easy way to modify the “Free Disk Space” column on the Slaves Tab of Deadline Monitor such that it reports the “smallest” numerical value of the various disk instead of the “total” combine storage available on a given blade.

With such a column, it is easier for us to spot problem on the farm due to disk storage shortage. Currently, I have to visually sort/note individual blade.

Ability to sort alphabetically by each local disk would be most useful.

I like the idea of being able to sort on each disk, but I’m not sure how we would support that (at least not in the job list). Maybe a drop down in the filter bar to choose a drive to sort on, which would be populated with the currently used drives. We would have to support Windows and Unix drive types in the list.

As for sorting based on the “smallest” number, I can think of cases where that might not always be helpful either. For example, many machines will have a backup drive that is used to restore the machine to the factory defaults, and this drive is much smaller than the main hard drive. If we sorted on the smallest number, and most of the machines had this backup drive, it’s still not obvious if machines are actually running out of space. Even if we based it on the smallest percentage of disk space available (instead of the smallest number of bytes remaining), that probably wouldn’t make a difference either.

What do you guys think of the drop down idea to pick a drive to sort on? It would also have Total as a default option, for users that find sorting on the total to be helpful.

sounds good to me.
