Hotkeys in Deadline 6

Is there a way to customize hotkeys in 6? I really liked the ctrl+r in 5 that allowed me to remote into a slave.

Yes and no.

We don’t allow custom hotkeys for arbitrary menu items, but we do allow hotkeys to be configured for all of the right-click scripts. Since the remoting stuff was moved to a script in 6.0, you should be able to set a hotkey for it in “Tools” -> “Configure Repository Options” -> “Script Menus”. Choose ‘Slave Scripts’ from the dropdown, and you should be able to set your hotkey from there.

I spoke too soon. I found the place you directed me to but I don’t see any hotkey options.

Sorry for the mix up. The script menu shortcuts that Jon was referring to are a new feature in Deadline 6.1, which just recently started beta. If you want to join the beta, just contact our Sales team:

OK, cool. So that feature isn’t in 6.0 then? As for the beta, I might jump in on that but I’m working on getting our farm upgraded from 5.2 to 6.0. Once that transition is complete I’d be interested in checking it out.
