Well, everithing is ready, I’ve got two computers with deadline slave in each other. I can render in local but now I want to render in the farm.
But I don’t understand how can I add machines for render one animation.
Thanks!

Hello,
You would need to install the Deadline client apps on the machines which you want to render on the farm, and start the Slave application, which will connect to the repo and begin dequeueing jobs that it is able to do. We have documentation on client installs at docs.thinkboxsoftware.com/produc … rview.html if you are up for a bit of reading.
I only want to know how can I add a windows machine in a Mac…
Hey,
I’m not sure we understood your problem then. You’ve installed Deadline’s client apps on both machines (that’s the install that includes the Monitor and Slave), and now the Windows machine isn’t showing in the list of slaves on your Mac?
If that’s the case, let’s make sure the Windows machine is connecting to the correct place. On the Windows machine, right click the launcher icon (the little black and white spaceship one), and choose ‘Change Repository’. Make sure that’s pointed to the network drive the repository is on and it should show up on your slave list.
Let us know if you’ve got any more questions!
THANK YOU!!! it was that, but the last question is… how I change the path of the windows to connect to the mac? i don’t understand this part:
docs.thinkboxsoftware.com/produc … th+mapping
Entry 2 (replaces the PC path with the Linux path on Linux and the Mac path on Macs):
what I have to put in the replace path?
Hello,
The method I recommend most people do is to take the path to files as they would appear on Mac, and then Windows and paste them into a text editor. For example:
\server\path\to\scenes\scene.ma
/Volumes/share/path/to/scenes/scene.ma
Now what you do is go right to left and remove each part that is the same until you reach ones that are not. This would leave you with:
\server
/Volumes/share/
What you would do is make 2 path map entries, one for each direction. For the first one you would use:
Path to Replace: /Volumes/share/
Windows Path: \server\
Then a second
Path to Replace: \server
Mac Path: /Volumes/share/
I hope that helps. We do also have a blog post at deadline.thinkboxsoftware.com/fe … the-basics which will help you learn a bit more about path mapping.
