How do I configure a Blender AMI>

I am curious as to how to best configure a Blender AMI for AWSPortal rendering. I have created an image using the newest 10.1 Linux worker as a base and added Blender 2.8, but when I try to render I get a “can’t open a display” error. What other packages/configurations would I need to get blender rendering working?

Hi Matthew, are you trying to render with Eevee?

If yes, ‘can’t open a display’ is because Eevee doesn’t work headless and needs a display attached.

Here are possible solutions

oliverxyz,

Thanks so much. After so long having a different default renderer set for blender, I had forgotten that Eevee is the default renderer. That should fix it.
