How to make both slaves render?

Hello again,

I’m trying to use Deadline on my two computers and I’m encountering strange problem - when I submit a 3ds max scene, only the machine where repository is installed (and also from which I submit the job) starts rendering. I’ve searched through the forum but for now, nothing helped. The second slave is visible in Monitor and its status is idle all the time. When submitting the scene I disable ‘limit number of machines rendering concurrently’ option. Blacklist is clear and pool and group are set to none (the same thing is if I create a pool and assign both slaves to it). Repository folder is fully accessible from the second computer (it is shared using simple sharing, with all the rights set to on). 3ds max is installed in different folders on both machines, but I added appropriate paths in plugins configuration. Both Monitor and slaves seem to work fine, not reporting any errors. I’m using Vray and Windows XP Pro, if that matters. So what am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help.

Best regards:)

Hi there,

What’s happens when you try submitting a job from the second machine? Does it pick up the job if you shut down the slave on the repository machine so that there is only one slave? Also, make sure all machines are running the same version.

Could you post the log file for the slave when it is the only one running and with the job in the queue? Turn on Enable Slave Verbose logging in the Repository Settings from the monitor. Let the slave run for a few minutes. From the slave, select Help->Explore Log folder, then grab the newest deadlineslave log file.
