Hi there,
We are keen to try the Keyshot Submission options in 8.1 but can someone explain how it’s supposed to work?
On submission i’m not getting any errors and the Keyshot Flaoting Exe runs on the slave but there is no RAM or CPU activity.
Thanks
Raj
Hey Raj,
We just recently made a couple of fixes to the Keyshot plugin, It had an issue that sometimes it would open the scene file after running or render script even though they were sent in the other order. If you could give the attached plugin a try and let us know how that goes that would be great. If that doesn’t work would you be able to get us a render log so we can take a look at it.
Thanks,
Grant
*Edit because I forgot to actually attach the file.
KeyShot.zip (1.63 KB)
Hi Grant,
Thanks for that, I can now submit to the farm and see the CPU loading up and my render output gets written. I do still need to know how i can adjust the render time. In Keyshot you have the attached options. How can i set these for the deadline job as it doesn’t pick up the settings from within keyshot.
Thanks and regards
Raj
This setting hasn’t been exposed yet and after an initial review it looks to be available in the API docs, so should be possible to add:
keyshot.com/scripting/doc/6.2/lu … derOptions
Any other settings you will need OR just this one?
Hi Mike,
Now that it seems to work ok, i’ll give it to one of our heavy Keyshot users and see what he says. I had sent you his thoughts prviously but that was before it was available.
Also can it be set to run on more than 1 machine to reduce the overal render time??
Thanks as always for your help
Regards
Raj
ok, great.
Hmm…I guess for a single frame, right? As an animation will naturally be split per frame to multiple Slaves. Needs investigating. Will log.
Exactly, thanks Mike.
One other observation, not sure if it’s supposed to be like this or not. After submitting a load of test jobs to the farm this morning, i was looking at task manager and noticed loads of processes and tasks still loaded even though Keyshot had been closed and my jobs finished. Should it be like this?
Hi Raj,
We have been unable to reproduce this issue of multiple, duplicate instances of “Submit Keyshot to Deadline” and “DeadlineCommand.exe”. I’m assuming you experienced this issue whilst testing against the latest Deadline 8.1.3.1 beta version and theh latest KeyShot version? If so, could you outline the steps to reproduce this issue?
Hey Raj,
Any chance of some steps to reproduce this multiple instances of the same named process ASAP? If not, we will go ahead and close this ticket internally.
Let us know!
Thanks,
Mike
