Krakatoa + Fumefx

Hi guys new to the forums here.

Just had a question about fumefx. Am having a little trouble understanding how to get Krakatoa to read the colors coming out of fumefx. I set up a scene with a torus knot on fire and i simmed it then loaded it to P Flow with the fumefx Birth operator. When i switch to Krakatoa i can see the particles but only in solid colors i don’t get the fire or smoke any idea?

FumeFX uses its own custom channels inside of PFlow - one of our TDs, Mark Theriault, came up with the idea to use the FumeFX operators to test the particles for their temperature and split them into multiple events with various colors. When rendered together, this resulted in rather convincing coloring as you can see here:

In the future, it would be cool if Krakatoa could tap directly into the custom FumeFX PFlow channels, but at this point it is not able to do that yet.

You can also use a gradient ramp set to normals.

Shameless plug for the only video tut I have ever done… here try not to listen to my voice I had a cold when I made it
