Our company just purchased an krakatoa networking license and we are having problems setting up the licenses on the workstations.
i have folowed the tutorial on network install and still doesn’t work.
it gives the following error:
“The License Server returned a networking error.”
please help.
Are you running other Frantic Films Software products like Deadline in addition to Krakatoa?
yes. we are running deadline. but we tried installing krakatoa without the deadline license in flexlm, still we had the same error.
But the Deadline license itself worked ok before installing Krakatoa, right?
Have you tried copying the content of the Krakatoa license file into the Deadline license file? (after creating a backup of the Deadline license file, of course).
tried that, still the same error. reinstaled windows now with a 32bit version, still the same error.
we found the problem, it seems that our aquiring guy ordered the 32 bit license. and we are using 64bit 3dstudioMAX.

This is unlikely.
Krakatoa ships with support for both 32 and 64 bit Max and runs on both Win32 and 64 bit. As long as the license was issued for the correct machine, it should work regardless of OS bitness. There must be something else.
Make sure you are using the 32bit FlexLM license software installation. We have provided a 64 bit build of the FlexLM tools, but we actually use the 32 bit version here at Frantic to serve licenses to both.
We recieved a fix from frantic support. It now gets licensed perfectly. Thank you for your advice.

Glad to hear the fix helped. We will post that script and instructions how to use it to the Krakatoa Documentation page ASAP to prevent others from having the same problem…
Hey there,
i seem to have the very same problem, but couldn´t find any reference in the user-documentation. I already e-mailed the support, maybe somebody here is faster? Little bit of a time pressure here…
thanks + regards!
