Krakatoa Units Scale Question

Hi there,

So, after having 1000 problems related to scale issues using 3dsmax and realflow (different velocities, density issues, etc, etc), I wonder what’s the best method to have correct scaling using krakatoa, 3dsmax and realflow sims. Should I work in inches, meters, centimeters? I’m willing to start all over just to avoid having to find what channels I have to adjust with magma, etc.
After all the tests, I think I should go with generic units - 1unit=1inch. It seems that importing and exporting from 3dsmax to realflow it’s always with same scale, and while rendering with krakatoa, intensity seems to be accurate to the standard values (shadows also). Agreed?

Thanks,

I’ll answer to myself, since this can be useful to other users experiencing the same problem:

After trying all units available in 3dsmax, the best results at the end of the day were:

generic units - 1unit=1inch and try to have the whole scene inside the grid (real flow)
Exporting to real flow works perfectly, and when we get the prt or bin directly from real flow, it’s exactly like it was supposed to be. Correct velocity channel, correct density, etc…

Cheers,
