Launcher service doesn't start Slave.

Hi!

I have a render node running on windows 7 enterprise with latest Deadline version. When i try to run launcher as a service (no matter what type of account was used - system service, network service, local user, domain user) - it’s starts normally, but … nothing happens - no slave instance shown in process list, in Monitor this node have “Offline” status. After that, if i try to start Slave manually from Windows Start menu - Slave doesn’t start. If try to run Program files/Thinkbox/Deadline/bin/deadlineslave.exe - Slave starts normally.
And please, tell me the secret, where Deadline stores logs? =)

Thanks!

The logs are in %ProgramData%\Thinkbox\Deadline\logs. Please send us the log from the slave and we’ll have a look.

Also, are you using a UNC path or a mapped drive for the Repository setting for the client? If it’s a mapped drive, the problem is probably that the drive isn’t mapped in the service’s environment. Using a UNC path instead should fix the problem if that’s the case.

Cheers,
