is there anyway to rename the machine in the slave list?

our IT department names everything like Ztuax477422 and i would like to rename it so it makes more sense to me and I can associate the machine name with the actual machine.

You could add something to the slave’s description field. Just right-click on the slave while in super user mode and select Modify Slave Settings.
