Magma Flow / KCM not showing up in 64 bit Max2009

I have been running Max 2009 with the beta and everything was awesome – when i installed the newest release something went wacko and I was curious if anyone could help me pin point what was wrong. If i load up the 32 bit version of max i have access to all of the krakatoa features, if I fire up the 64 bit version – when I go to the modifers drop down there is no KCM. If i try to manually launch KCM through the menu it pops up the krakatoaGUI.ms and highlights the KCM like and says it needs a function or class? errr did something not get installed in the 64 bit folder that was in the 32? or am i missing something here?

sorry if its something simple – thought I did everything correct.

cheers!
James

Is Helium installed correctly? That is usually the first thing to check. Helium is the 3rd party control that is used by the Editor. If it is missing, then you would get an error on startup of Krakatoa though, not just when you try to add a KCM. Do you have any errors at startup time? Can you post ANY errors you are getting here?

In short, check that your plugin.ini file contains the path to Helium which the “Add Krakatoa To 3ds Max” wizard should have added.
It should look something like
Helium=C:\Program Files (x86)\Prime Focus\Krakatoa\3dsMax2009\x64\Helium

i did get an error on startup but didn’t know if it was in relation to this – i’ll follow up with the error and i’ll look at the ini.
i had to manually add the path for krakatoa for the x64 version to get it to work… it just was installing but not showing up…
i’ll update in a bit! thanks for the fast reply.

****UPDATE!

ah! adding the line to the plugin.ini worked. Its odd – i should have known thats what it was since i had to add krakatoa on there, didnt know i had to add the helium line as well. thanks bobo!

You are not supposed to add lines manually, the “Add Krakatoa To 3ds Max” wizard should do it, since it also has to copy the TBB.DLL and stuff like that.
If you have run it for that particular version and did not get a Helium path in the install, please report that as a bug!
