Hey franhlin,

It may not be possible for Deadline to support Chinese characters in the file and path names. For the most part we let the operating system handle paths for us. Have you received any errors trying to run Deadline on a Chinese localized computer? Would you be able to supply us with the error messages?

If there are problems with how we handle international file paths, we can fix those problems in a future release, but we cannot release fixes for previous versions I’m afraid.

We thought we had addressed any unicode issues in Dealdine 4.1 SP1 (build 43205). Can you check you version number from the Monitor by selecting Help -> About Deadline Monitor? With the unicode issues resolved, Chinese characters and path separators should work fine…

Thanks for confirming. So what problems specifically are you having with Chinese characters? Can you enter Chinese paths into Deadline’s browser controls? Can you view Chinese output in the render logs?
