Monitor failing to update slaves

Deadline Version: 6.2.0.18 R (eab066972)

Hello,

We receive this error when trying to open the Monitor. Monitor first crashed on my machine, but not has this error when anyone opens it.

It has a red box next to where Panels Locked appears that says “Update error detected, see Console Panel for more info.”

This is what the console panel says:
2014-04-02 11:30:41: Error occurred while updating slave cache: Value was either too large or too small for a Single. (System.OverflowException)
2014-04-02 11:30:41: WARNING: disabling profiling because of error begin profiling section twice without ending the first one (Slave Importer).
2014-04-02 11:31:01: Error occurred while updating slave ping cache: Value was either too large or too small for a Single. (System.OverflowException)

2014-04-02 12:00:28: Traceback (most recent call last):
2014-04-02 12:00:28: File “DeadlineUI\UI\Models\SlaveListProxyModel.py”, line 77, in onRowsInserted
2014-04-02 12:00:28: KeyError: u’’
2014-04-02 12:00:34: Error occurred while updating slave cache: Value was either too large or too small for a Single. (System.OverflowException)

All of our slaves now show up with Unknown status when restarting the monitor, but slowly more slaves appear, but are missing info like Slave name, pools, job name.

Thanks

I think we figured out this problem, and we’ll try to get a new build posted this week to fix the issue. We’re starting the build right now, so as long as everything goes well, we can probably have it up later today.

Thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the inconvenience!

Cheers,
Ryan

Hi Ryan, was this a regression, or an old bug previously unnoticed?

(We are trying to decide whether to upgrade to the latest beta, but being in the last 2 weeks of a production, need to balance the risks…)

It was a regression.

Just a heads up that beta 6 is now available, and should fix this issue:
