MR standalone submission

Hi guys,

whenever I submit a maya scene with multiple renderlayers to be rendered through MR standalone my custom layers all translate and render fine,
but the masterLayer only translates, it does not render.

From the logs:

Exception during render: An error occurred in RenderTasks(): Renderer reported an error with error code 121002: failed to open //tiger/mrdump/test-offset_defaultRenderLayer.mi for reading, The system cannot find the file specified.

Seems like there is a naming confusion between Maya’s internal name and GUI name for this renderlayer.

Is there a way around that other than manually hacking the jobs file for that layer?

Cheers!

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

Are you manually exporting your Maya scene to MI files, then submitting them through the Monitor, or are you using the Mental Ray Export option in the Maya integrated submission script to send the export and the MR standalone render to Deadline? We need to know if it’s Maya that’s messing up the layer name or if it’s Deadline.

Also, it might help to post the full render log for the task that reported this error. It might help put the error in better context. Also, I’m assuming that //tiger/mrdump/test-offset_defaultRenderLayer.mi is the wrong file name? If so, what is the correct file name that MR should be looking for?

Thanks,
